2012 Mineral School Reunion Scheduled

Our next Mineral Springs School Reunion will be held at the Gardendale Civic Center on Saturday, August 11, 2012, from two until four. We are suggesting a $5.00 donation on the day of the reunion to help with the expenses. There will be no phone reminders, so we are relying on all y'all to help spread the word. If you are willing to serve on the committee please e-mail Mary Sorensen Holt at mineralschool@yahoo.com.

Mineral School history now available on CD and booklet!
Joyce (Fields) Blankenship, who has devoted more time and effort than anyone in collecting and organizing historical material related to Mineral Springs School, is now making the fruits of her labor available to all school alumni and friends.  Joyce has prepared a booklet that traces Mineral School history from the school's founding in Jew Hollow in 1919 until its closing more than 50 years later. What's more, she has transferred all her Mineral-related photographs and documents to compact disk where they are viewable on any computer with a CD/DVD player/burner. Now you have the chance to read a history and view and enjoy photos and documents about Mineral School that are not available anywhere else--including this Web site.

Cost of the booklet and CD is $12.00, plus $2.00 for shipping. For your copy, e-mail webmaster@mineralschool.org for purchase instructions. Don't delay.

Reunion News
Another reunion (2010) is in the books. Thanks to all who make these events possible. Your work is truly appreciated.

There will not be a reunion in 2011, but look for announcements of the 2012 reunion as soon as information becomes available.

Meanwhile, for photos of some of the attendees at the 2009 reunion, see the reunions page.

What's New on the Site
Several new photos and photo sections have been added to the Mineral School site since it was initially launched on February 24, 2006. If Mineralites continue to provide, as we certainly hope they will, additional photos, documents, and information, the site will continue to grow, and you will be able to see something new here almost every time you visit. The easiest way to find out when something has been added or updated is to click the "What's New" button on the home page to access the latest Web site updates. Each time something significant is added to the site, you'll see it announced on the "What's New" page with a handy link to the new addition.
